After much study and debate student news teams from Mr. Labardee”s 3rd, 4th and 5th period humanities classes at Utterback Middle School published newspapers covering all aspects of the Triangle Factory fire of 1911 in New York City.

In many ways this fire symbolized the turning point of the 19th Century.  The Triangle Factory fire represented both the hazards and abuses of industrialization as well as the promise of a new age of workers’ rights together with the dawn of American industrial power.
